Google Secret Lab

German reporter Henk van Ess from searchbistro.com unveiled today the secret behind eval.google.com

For a long time I have been posting over at seochat and webmasterworld to SEO newbies on the Google sandbox. The sandbox is basically a term used when a new website is not shown in the Google rankings. It takes around 6-12 months for the site to start to show high rankings for competitive words. I launched a website back in October 2004 and alhough the site remained top for the name of the website it was not showing for the key themed word.

To put this in english there is always a time log before your website will show for the wigets you sell on line. So if your website sells paint and is called jo.com you will not be shown in the searches initially for the keyword paint but may come top for the term job - dependent on the competitiveness of the keyword. I heard from a legendary SEO chat member that Google was starting to get people to humanly add sites and check searches daily to get rid of spam.

This has now been confirmed by a blogger who is in fact one of these human editors. Please click here to read more about Google's secret lab.
